An Italian humanoid uses full-body sensor skin to detect touch, temperature, proximity, and force before contact, extending the existing robotic-skins line from passive household protection into active safety control. The mechanism could become a supplier category for robots operating near people, but it remains early until additional manufacturers, OEM integrations, or safety certification programs confirm demand.

The robotic-skins line has a new observation: a Unitree G1 household configuration uses a protective outer suit intended to reduce damage to furniture while specialized grippers handle domestic objects. This supports the idea that humanoid deployment will create a supplier layer for protective materials and task-specific end effectors. It remains early until multiple vendors, OEM contracts, or repeatable household deployments appear.

A specialized supplier layer is appearing around humanoid robots for knitted clothing and flexible outer skins engineered around moving joints. One documented company is not enough to establish a category; confirmation requires additional suppliers, robot-OEM contracts, or dedicated materials standards.
